Strength in Trust
OneTrust’s mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn’t slow teams down—it should accelerate what’s possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. OneTrust, the AI-Ready Governance Platform™, unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows so businesses can continue to move at the speed of AI while ensuring good governance to prevent data misuse at scale. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.
The Challenge
Lead strategic, mixed-methods research that informs product direction, balances discovery and evaluation, and helps teams deeply understand user needs through qualitative and quantitative evidence.
Your Mission
- Design and execute mixed-methods research using interviews, usability testing, surveys, concept tests, diary or longitudinal studies, and behavioral data to answer the right questions at the right fidelity.
- Lead and manage end-to-end UX research projects, including 1–2 strategic initiatives per quarter—from clarifying objectives and designing studies through to synthesis, storytelling, and influencing decisions across teams and levels.
- Serve as a designated research partner for a product domain, while flexing to support other initiatives as needed.
- Act as a trusted thought partner and coach to UX Designers, PMs, and cross-functional partners on research definition, planning, execution, analysis, and activation of insights (both in a lead and support role).
- Produce concise, stakeholder-ready research assets that directly support decision-making, prioritization, and strategy with intentional storytelling.
- Support teams using Maze, Pendo, and related tools to design studies, interpret results, and connect findings back to decisions and user experience.
- Collaborate on dashboards, surveys, and evaluative research with teams.
- Proactively identify risks or research opportunities to contribute to the research roadmap.
- Contribute to shared templates, training materials, reporting standards, and the insights library to support elevating the R&D team’s research practice.
- Partner closely with ResearchOps to continually improve research activation, quality, and efficiency.
You Are
- 5+ years of UX research experience.
- Depth in core qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, concept/usability testing, discovery work) and comfort with quantitative approaches (e.g., survey design, basic statistics, behavioral metrics, experimentation, mining business signal data).
- Strong across both quantitative and qualitative UX research methods: your toolbox contains various tools to get to the most actionable insights (e.g., facilitating 1:1 calls with customers, conducting unmoderated research studies, short & long-form surveys, mining sales & support data, engaging with online communities).
- Exceptional communication and storytelling ability; you make insights tangible and drive alignment across stakeholders through clarity and empathy.
- Ability to build trust and influence while closely partnering with PM, Design, and Engineering, with a track record of concretely impacting product and strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to build a collaborative research practice within a product org, where you’ve used your expertise to mentor or train others in how to conduct high-quality user research.
- Self-motivated with a “find the people, ask the questions, make the data” attitude.
- Excellent synthesis and storytelling from complex information and data.
- Strong organizational skills, with a drive to ensure research data is well-catalogued for easy future access.
- Ability to enhance a research practice using AI tools while maintaining the integrity of the research and adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
- Ability to operate with high autonomy across a wide range of activities, from research coordination to facilitation and synthesis, while balancing rigor with speed.
- Master’s or advanced degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
- Experience in B2B SaaS or multi-product systems.
- Experience with remote, asynchronous collaboration.
