Core Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing and Compliance:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Verify and reconcile payroll data, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of payroll tax returns
- Review and correct timesheets for hourly employees daily
- Connect with managers of hourly employees to ensure timesheet change requests, PTO requests, and timesheet approvals are completed in a timely manner
- Payroll Reconciliations:
- Implement and maintain workforce management systems to optimize employee scheduling, time tracking, and labor costs, across our employees workforce
- Analyze workforce data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements
- Collaborate with People team and department managers to align workforce management strategies with business objectives
- Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review general ledger entries related to payroll
- Monitor Accounts Payable inbox and process invoices in Tipalti AP system
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and workforce management
- System Utilization and Optimization:
- Utilize payroll and workforce management software (e.g., UKG, Insightful) efficiently
- Identify and implement system enhancements for increased efficiency and accuracy
- Provide training and support to staff on payroll and workforce management systems and procedures
- Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and support periodic audits to ensure adherence to standards and accurate reporting
- Reconcile contractor resource billing with reported hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting, with significant experience in workforce management
- Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in payroll and workforce management in UKGProficiency in payroll and workforce management in UKG preferred
- Proficiency in accounting in Netsuite preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on team collaboration
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $64,000 - $91,000 per year. This reflects typical earning potential in this role based on market data and individual factors including skill sets, experience, and geographic location.
