About Revolut
People deserve more from their money. More visibility, more control, more freedom. And since 2015, Revolut has been on a mission to deliver just that. With an arsenal of awesome products that span spending, saving, travel, transfers, investing, exchanging and more, our super app has helped 25+ million customers get more from their money. And we're not done yet.
As we continue our lightning-fast growth, we believe that two things are essential to continuing our success: our people and our culture. So far, we have 5000+ people working around the world, from our great offices or remotely, on our mission. And we're looking for more. We want brilliant people that love building great products, love redefining success, and love turning the complexity of a chaotic world into the simplicity of a beautiful solution.
About the role
The Legal team sits at the heart of Revolut and it's a very important part of the business 🚀
This lovely bunch supports all other Revolut teams, helping us achieve our goals each and every day.
They're special, they're strong-willed and they work on a lot of different areas (which is not that common for an in-house role, we know, but they're just that good) 🧠
From structuring credit programmes to launching into new territories, the Legal team does it all!
If curiosity is your middle name, we've got the perfect role for you! 🤓
You'll have the best opportunities to understand our business processes, improve your legal skills and make an impact in one of the world’s fastest-growing fintech companies. We're pretty quick on our feet, so you'll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment 💪
We like to think of ourselves as intellectually challenging and exciting. If you join us, you'll work directly with the business and third parties, and provide day-to-day and strategic advice on a broad range of commercial and regulatory topics.
Now, let's get it done! 🚀
What you’ll be doing
- Having overall conduct and responsibility for a caseload of litigated and non-litigated matters from start to finish with supervision and support from Legal Counsel
- Assisting Legal Counsel with complex matters including disclosure, collection and production of materials
- Liaising with external counsel (including local counsel in cross-border matters) and managing legal spend
- Supporting Revolut’s Contentious Regulatory Legal Counsel and advising on related regulatory matters
- Assisting with enquiries and investigations from regulators around the world and helping to roll out relevant process and control improvements
- Supporting Revolut’s whistleblowing function including initial review and triage of whistleblowing reports and assisting with ongoing whistleblowing investigations
- Capturing know-how and assisting with knowledge sharing
- Putting in place and actively seeking new scalable processes to support the function of the Disputes and Reputation team and assisting with the collation of management information
- Being a team player and supporting Revolut’s wider legal team in a variety of tasks ranging from regulatory filings, corporate governance, investor relations, intellectual property checks, and more.
What you'll need
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong motivation to work in a fast-paced environment plus the enthusiasm and willingness to roll up your sleeves, learn fast, and take responsibility
- The ability to manage large amounts of documents, as well as seeking out new technological solutions to make the legal team’s processes and functions more efficient
- A high degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness
- Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple projects at once to meet deadlines
- The ability to work independently and also contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Nice to have
- An undergraduate degree (2.1 or above)
- 1+ year of experience working at a law or compliance firm, ideally within a litigation department
- Experience of UK court proceedings and procedures, particularly dealing with the Civil Procedure Rules and the County Court system
- Experience of UK financial regulation or contentious financial regulatory matters
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment, even in ambiguous situations
- Fluency in another language
- Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humour
Building a global financial super app isn’t enough. Our Revoluters are a priority, and that’s why in 2021 we launched our inaugural D&I Framework, designed to help us thrive and grow everyday. We're not just doing this because it's the right thing to do. We’re doing it because we know that seeking out diverse talent and creating an inclusive workplace is the way to create exceptional, innovative products and services for our customers. That’s why we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join this multicultural, hard-working team.
